The Magnetic Materials Group (GMM) is dedicated to the experimental study of magnetism at the nanoscale. It has multiple vacuum chambers for the combined deposition of nanoparticles, thin films, and multilayers using sputtering, allowing for thicknesses ranging from tenths to hundreds of nanometers. By measuring the magnetic, structural, and transport properties of the newly fabricated materials, the group aims to deepen the understanding of the physics of materials at these scales and to optimize these properties for applications.
